PANGYO, Korea (May 9, 2019) – NCSOFT, a global premier game developer and publisher, today announced the launch date for its flagship mobile MMORPG ‘Lineage M’ in Japan. Lineage M will hit the market on May 29.

NC Japan, a division of NCSOFT responsible for game development and operation in Japan, will be in charge of Lineage M’s operation and service in the market. Japan is the third territory for Lineage M, following Korea and Taiwan launched on June 21 and December 11 respectively in 2017.

Today, NC Japan held a press conference and announced Lineage M’s launch in Tokyo. Seungbo Shim, Chief Publishing Director at NCSOFT, opened the conference by unveiling the forthcoming launch date in his keynote address.

Takoya Ookouchi, Lineage M’s Project Producer at NC Japan, also took the stage to introduce the game and a promotional character pre-creation event. The Japanese version of Lineage M will consist of five character classes, including ‘Dark Elf’. More contents will follow after launch. Players in Japan will be able to download Lineage M from Google Play and Apple App Store – both rated as age 12 and up.

Lineage M’s pre-registration promotion is currently open. Started from February 15, the total accumulated number of pre-registration accounts broke the 1.5 million mark as of May 9.

Taekhun Kim, CEO of NC Japan, said, “Lineage M is now off to a new journey in Japan following Korea and Taiwan.” He also added, “We will stay true to Lineage M’s original value and at the same time optimize the player experience for Japanese users.”
